The Harvester

from Faithful by Teresa Skinner

/

about

Wow, what a song.... Kansas it was. A prophetic word 20 minutes long. So presumptuous was I to think it was for those I sang to and found out later that it was for we who sat “ministering” more than those we ministered to. It is not how we start the race but how we run and mostly finish the race. God keep our hearts close to yours. The song has been edited. This is one that God gave, I sang, someone taped the prophesy, I learned the song later.

The Harvester
Matt. 20:1-26

There was a Harvester who had a field white with harvest,
He said, “Come I will pay you a penny for working in my fields.”
Children come” And they came.

It was about the 13th hour,
And the Harvester had a field white with harvest.
And He went out of the gate and saw them standing.
He said, “Why do you stand here idle.

They said, “Master, no one would hire us.”
He said, “Come.” He said, “come. I have much to harvest,
If I don’t get it harvested, it will be destroyed.
So come, my children come, I’ll pay you a day’s earnings.”

There was a Man who had a field white with harvest,
And He searched in the highways and the byways,
Looking for someone to come; well, He saw someone.

He asked them. “Why are you not working? The day is almost done.”
“Master no one would hire us, Truly we wanted to work, but we couldn’t.”

He said, “Come, my children come,
I have a field white with harvest, and I don’t want it to die,
I have a field white with harvest, Say ye not, ‘yet four months’, but come.”

“For my combines, they will not work,
They just sit there, sit there and argue.
Saying, ‘I can do the work better than you can’,
But no work is done, and it breaks My heart.”

“All I want to do is cause My people to come.
Children come, lay aside all the weights,
Lay aside every care of life. Lay them all aside.”

“Don’t compete. Only I give the tools,
Only I teach the way, only I the Lord thy God,
I the Harvester.”

There was a time, the last time, and the Harvester went out,

And he called the people to come.
His heart was so heavy,
His heart was so heavy.

“Where are the workers, where are the laborers?”
“They had an argument and they left thy field.”
But My field is white with harvest, and I don’t want it to die.
Oh, My field is white with harvest, and I don’t want it to die.”

He saw a man, that man was drunk, that man didn’t have a mind.
That man didn’t have anything that anyone could call kind.
Yet He said come, I will heal you as you walk into my harvest.
Child come, I’ll pay you a wage. Children come.

Day was finished. Day was finished.
And the harvester called all his workers in.

He said, “Have you brought in much wheat? I see you have.
Now, it’s paying time and I’ll pay you a penny each.
It’s paying time and I’ll give you My Kingdom.
“What do I hear, you’re complaining?
“What do I hear, you’re complaining?

(Pause)

“Well, Master, we worked all day. You only paid us a penny,
Master, we worked all day, longer than anyone else,
Why do we receive the same pay?”

And He looked at them with sorrow in His heart.
And He said, “Just depart!”
“For is it not lawful for me to do what I will with my own?
Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with my Own?
Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with my Own?
Is it not lawful, is it not true?”
An imperfect vessel on a potter’s wheel,

All you need to do is yield.
An imperfect vessel on a potter’s wheel,
All you need to do is yield.

And the servant will become hand—carved.
And the Master’s harvest won’t be ruined.
“My children come. My children come.”

Pray to the Lord of Harvest that He would send forth laborers,
For the harvest is white and the laborers are few.
“My children come. I have something to give you

My kingdom is now within you!”
