I remember writing the music to this song, sitting in a large room on the Fort Yuma United Methodist Church on the Quechan Reservation in Yuma Arizona. The music was so unusual to what I write. Sometimes, I seem to write music in the “heat of my spirit” this was one of those times – the end result... Wow God is so much bigger than us... This song is the thread to my life, may I always live that fasted life...

Isaiah 58

Cry aloud, spare not
Lift up your voice like a trumpet
And show my people their transgression,
And the house of Jacob their sins.

Yet they seek me daily
And delight to know my ways
As a nation that did righteousness
And forsook not the ordinances of their God.

Is it such a fast that I have chosen
A day for a man to afflict his soul?
Wilt thou call this a fast,
An acceptable day to the Lord?

Is not this the fast that I have chosen?
To loose the bands of wickedness,
To undo the heavy burdens and let the oppressed go free.
And that you break every yoke?

Is it not to feed the hungry?
Is it not to clothe the naked?
Is it not to hide thyself from
Thine own flesh?

Then shall thy light break forth as the morning,
And thy health shall spring forth speedily:
And thy righteousness shall go before thee;
And the glory of the Lord shall be they reward.

Then shalt you call, and the Lord shall answer;
You shall cry, and He will say,
