Peter 02:38
IF GOD CAN MAKE A ROCK OUT OF PETER Matt. 16:18 If we look at the life of Peter A man who said the wrong things A fisherman, an ordinary man But a rock Jesus said he would be. Now, three years Peter walked with Jesus. Three times he denied His name. Three times he said he would feed God’s lambs And wait till Pentecost came. One day Peter had a revelation He said Jesus you’re the Son of God. This truth comes not by things of earth But from the Father above. If God can make a rock out of Peter, He sure can build His kingdom in me. Even though it may be slow Cause I’m small to some degree. If God can make a rock, Make a rock out of Peter He sure can build His Kingdom in me! Now John the Baptist in the days of old Walked in desert lands. God made John brazen bold To speak at His command. I’m not bold like John the Baptist Like Daniel I’m not I’m not brave. But if like a rock God can make Peter Surely me He can save. As bold John I’ll speak God’s word God’s word will speak through me. For the anointing of the Lord Will help make others free. Chorus

Learning 04:22
LEARNING Philippians 2:13,14 Oh I’m learning to do everything Unto the Lord, Doing things heartily Unto the Lord! Yes, I’m learning to do everything Unto the Lord, Doing things heartily Unto the Lord! It’s easy to do unto the Lord When everything is going right. Your schedule isn’t very tight How easy it is. When everything seems to go wrong, You’re singing a different song. You better catch yourself before long Remember this word. If you want to be great in God’s Kingdom, You’ve got to care in the little things. For if you’re faithful in the little God will make you ruler over all. If you want to be great in God’s Kingdom, You’ve got to care in the little things. For if you’re faithful in the little God will make you ruler over all.

Look Up 02:23
LOOK UP Luke 21:28; Phil. 1:6 Look up your redemption draweth nigh! Don’t look down on the ground, can’t tell you why. Jesus died for you, now He lives in you. So look up your redemption draweth nigh. Old Satan he wants to make you cry, But Jesus just wants your flesh to die. Jesus died for you, now He lives in you. So look up your redemption draweth nigh. Being confident of this very thing, That He which hath begun a good work on you Will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Being confident of this very thing. He has healed me and He washed me clean And He placed within me a new heart and spirit. In that spirit, He placed in me the Spirit of the Lord. That He might cause me to walk in His ways.

YOU ALONE ARE WORTHY Precious Jesus how we love you, Precious Jesus how we love you For you alone are worthy, You alone are worthy, For you alone are worthy, Worthy to be praised. Holy Spirit how we need you, Holy Spirit how we need you Chorus Father God, you’re creator, Father God, you’re creator Chorus

SEARCH ME O GOD Psalm 139:8-10, 23, 24 If I ascend up into heaven thou art there If I make my bed in hell, behold thou art there. If I take the wings of morning And dwell in the utter most part of the sea Even there shall thy hand lead me And thy right hand shall uphold me. Search me O God and know my heart Try me and know my thoughts And see if there be any wicked way in me And lead me in thy way everlasting.

KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK, Psalm 84:10,11 Knock, knock, knock, What did the doorkeeper say? I’d rather be in the house of God today Than to dwell in the tents of wickedness! For the Lord God is a sun and shield The Lord will give grace and glory No good thing will He withhold From them that walk uprightly!

SINGIN’ PRAISES! Hallelujah singin’ praises to His name, For I know I am no longer the same, Spending my day, praising my King, Oh how I love to sing. And sometimes when I wake up in the mornin’ And I’m feelin’ just a little bit blue, I just look to His word and I know that it’s true Pretty soon I’m feeling brand new. I’ll be singin’… And clap my hands, And stomp my feet, And smile real big.

While I Live 03:53
WHILE I LIVE Psalm 146:1-6,8,9 Praise ye the Lord. Praise the Lord, O my soul. While I live I will praise the Lord: I will sing praises unto my God While I have any being. Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, His breath goes forth, he returns to his earth; And in that very day his thoughts perish. In him there is no help. Chorus Happy is he that has the God of Jacob For his help, whose hope is in the Lord Jehovah: Which made the heavens and the earth, the sea, And all that is therein: Which keepeth the truth forever: The Lord opens the eyes of the blind: The Lord raises them that are bowed down: The Lord loves the righteous: The Lord preserves the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and the widow: But the way of the wicked He turns up-side-down. Chorus

SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS Malachi 4:2,3 But unto you (unto you) That fear my name (fear my name) Shall the Sun of righteousness arise. He shall arise with healing in His wings; Ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. He shall arise with healing in His wings; Ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. Chorus And ye shall tread down the wicked; For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet In the day that I shall do this, Saith the Lord of hosts.

Weapons of Our Warfare 2 Cor. 10:4 Oh the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, But they are mighty through God. Oh the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, But they are mighty through God. To the pulling down of strongholds through God. To the pulling down of strongholds through God. We will arise and go forth and worship God, And worship God, and worship God. We will arise and go forth and worship God, And worship God, and worship God.

about

Packed with nothing but the best intentions, If God Can Make a Rock out of Peter is a charming album of folky praise songs. Teresa Skinner has a very traditional folksinger voice, invoking comparisons to Skeeter Davis and Judy Collins with her excellent guitar work and rich voice. The songs are fairly simplistic, but these are ideal for worship services as they are both memorable and repetitive, two good signs for small church choirs looking for new songs. This has very little potential to reach out beyond folk music fans and gospel fans, but both groups of listeners may want to give Skinner a shot -- she has a knack for simple, catchy folk music with a religious emphasis. by Bradley Torreano
